About

Who we are

At Safe Water Networks (SWaN) we put the protection of public health and environment at the forefront of everything we do. We have spent our careers managing water quality in public supplies, from environmental and catchment management, water process and treatment and laboratory science to distribution systems maintenance and operations. This allows us to deliver “source-to-tap” expertise with a focus on providing tailored services, ensuring the safety, efficiency and health of all water systems.

Our comprehensive service means we are uniquely positioned to manage the entire lifecycle of water quality for the benefit and health of consumers, clients and users. We aim to be a trusted partner in water management and believe that by offering innovative and sustainable solutions, we prioritise safety, optimise assets and protect environment and communities.

Our mission

With a clear mission to protect public health and the environment, we aim to make water management easy, sustainable, and risk-based, empowering our clients to make informed decisions that safeguard public health. Our services are designed to make risk management straightforward and effective.

What we do

Operational science, applied.

All our services benefit from our source-to-tap experience and expertise. We are proud of our operational science heritage and our track record of protecting public health through the design, operation and maintenance of water systems people can rely on.

Source-to-tap expertise — One team covering the whole chain, from catchment and environment through treatment and distribution to the tap. Few providers can follow a problem across all of it.
Operational science heritage — Careers spent running public water supplies, not just auditing them. We have operated the systems we assess.
Experienced, fully trained professionals — Certified assessors and technicians with expert knowledge across all water system types.
UKAS-accredited testing — Analysis through ISO 17025 laboratories, with ISO 17025-compliant sampling protocols end to end, so results stand up to scrutiny.
Regulatory compliance built in — Work delivered in line with ACoP L8, HSG 274, BS 8558, BS 8580-1:2019 and the Water Safety Plan approach.
Clear, actionable reporting — Detailed reports setting out identified risks, compliance status and practical recommendations you can act on.
Tailored solutions — Services adapted to your property, sector and risk profile rather than a fixed package.
End-to-end support — From survey through remediation to long-term monitoring, with flexible scheduling that minimises downtime.
